PAT & OSCAR'S EXPANDS ITALIAN MENU OFFERINGS, ROLLS OUT FIRST SEASONAL "THEMED" PROMOTION

First-Ever Meatball Options Available for Pasta, Pizza, Sandwiches
SAN DIEGO – For the first time in its 17-year history, meatballs are rolling onto the menu at Pat & Oscar’s Restaurants (www.patandoscars.com). As the first of several seasonal themed promotions, the meatball menu items are part of the “Festa Italiano!” concept, encouraging guests to enjoy family-style, fresh meals just like they might experience in Italy.
The new meatball options are designed to create a heartier meal for diners and create an even better value for families looking to stretch their budget. For a limited time only beginning September 8, 2008, guests can choose from several meatball themed dishes, such the Italian Meal for 4+ -- A Family Style Spaghetti & Meatballs (five meatballs), Medium Italian Gourmet Pizza, Medium Greek or Caesar Salad and 12 Breadsticks for only $27.99. To top off the authentic Italian experience, Pat & Oscar’s is now offering guests the ability to buy a full bottle of DaVinci Chianti to share at the table ($14.99 with any meal, $17.99 stand alone).
Additional Italian themed items include Spaghetti and Meatballs (add $2.49 to any standard pasta meal); an Italian Gourmet Pizza – Featuring Meatballs (Small $13.49, Medium $15.49, Large $17.49); a Meatball Sub Combo (Choice of petite Greek or Caesar, cup of soup or potatoes wedges and 20 oz fountain drink: $9.99); guests are also have the option to make their Italian Meal for 4+ into an Italian Meal for 6+ for only $37.99.
These meals represent an ongoing commitment to Pat & Oscar’s pledge to offer fresh, quality, high-value meals to families. “In this tougher economy, we wanted to make sure our meals help guests stretch their food dollars and fill their stomachs,” said George Hunter, COO of Pat & Oscar’s. The company plans to roll out several seasonal “themed” menu offerings centered around different tastes and cultures over the next 12 months.
“Our pasta and pizzas are our most popular menu items and customer demand for more Italian-themed dishes is stronger than ever,” said Hunter. “As a direct result, we decided to give our guests the opportunity to create a truly family-style Italian meal complete with meatballs to spice up any dish,” he added.
